Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA) Women’s Wing was formed on 12 May 2012 by Joyce Kingsley. She formed her own Executive Committee and developed a concept for on-going monthly networking sessions for ladies. She was not keen to have the usual networking style so she came up with 10-minute segments of business presentations mini stalls for ladies, to showcase their products and also to sell them, inspirational speeches by experts, networking games and buffet dinners. She says, My team was made of just six business women initially. We also conducted awareness programmes for both men and women, which was attended by only 20 to 30 people. Now our membership has grown and we have about 80 to 100 attending on a normal weekday.
