On the 21st January 2023, at the Tekka place, an event took place, in which Kalamanjari found a place in the Singapore Book of Records.
Kalamanjari an organisation that aims to promote’Tamil Classical Music’ was started in 2018 by Mrs Soundara Nayaki Vairavan.
Kalamanjari has conducted events for the great Tamil scholars Barathiyar, Barathidasanar, Tiruvalluvar and Avaiyar.
Singapore’s rangoli exponent Ms Sudha Ravi and her daughter Ms Rakshita Ravi made a portrait of these four scholars, using popsicles, measuring about 5.8m by 4.7m.
This was done for Kalamanjari and Kalamanjari had organised for this event, supported by LISHA as a part of ‘LISHA Pongal Festival 2023’. Kalamanjari and team did a vocal performance on the songs of these scholars.
High Commission of India, Singapore’s First Secretary for Commerce Mr Prabakharan attended as the Guest of Honour and other prominent personalities joined him.
Many well wishers and art lovers appreciated the portrait as innovative and creative.
