Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore) organised a meaningful tree planting exercise as part of the #Plant4Mother campaign, launched by India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on World Environment Day. The event, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainability, was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Shilpak Ambule, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, and Mr. Neil Parekh, Nominated Member of Parliament and Chairman of Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome address by SNM’s President, Mr. Anil Sarasijakshan, who emphasized the importance of environmental preservation in line with the campaign’s mission. Mr. Anil highlighted the strong alignment between the #Plant4Mother campaign and Singapore’s Garden City vision, underscoring SNM’s commitment to contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
Dr. Shilpak Ambule, in his speech, commended the initiative and reaffirmed India’s dedication to environmental stewardship, which resonates with global efforts to protect and preserve Mother Earth for future generations.
The ceremonial planting of Neem trees by Mr. Anil Sarasijakshan, Dr. Shilpak Ambule, and Mr. Neil Parekh was the highlight of the event. The planting was witnessed by SNM’s Executive Committee members, SNM members, residents, and staff, making it a truly community-centred occasion.
