On saturday, the 28th September 2019, the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) honoured 514 Indian students who had made exceptional achievements in the academics, sports and the  arts, at the 28th SINDA Excellence Awards ceremony (SEA).

This year’s ceremony was graced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr
Heng Swee Keat, who spoke on the themes of education and social mobility, against an
evolving landscape.

The award recipients this year formed the largest cohort in the ceremony’s history, signalling
that more students in the Indian community are performing better and achieving excellence in their respective fields.   About a quarter of the award recipients had benefitted from SINDA’s programmes and services – a testament to the organisation’s role in nurturing student aspirations and promoting a culture of holistic learning.
