Pradhana Vizha 2021: Celebrating the best of local Indian entertainment, retro-style

Pradhana Vizha 2021 is set to dazzle viewers with scintillating performances in tribute to the best of local Indian entertainment on 27 March! To be hosted by personalities Karthikeyan, Haleema, Udaya Soundari, Saravanan Ayyavoo and Jaynesh, the highly anticipated awards show will take audiences back on a journey to the 70’s with an explosion of nostalgic grandeur, in line with this year’s retro theme.

A total of 31 awards will be conferred in recognition of the exceptional talents and creativity of the local Indian entertainment scene. This includes a brand new Best Radio Programme award that will be presented for the first time ever in Pradhana Vizha’s history, in conjunction with the 85th anniversary of radio broadcasting in Singapore. Dedicated to honour the best in local radio, the addition of this award is also part of Mediacorp’s continuous efforts to recognise worthy talents and celebrate great content across the local media industry.

The number of awards presented in Pradhana Vizha 2021 also sees an increase from previous years’ shows as the creative, music and popular categories make a much-awaited comeback. Another highlight that awaits fans is the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award, to be presented to a respected individual who has made significant contributions to the Indian radio industry.

Among the nominees vying for the coveted awards, Avathaaram leads with ten nominations in categories such as Best Drama Series, Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Original Song. Other Pradhana Vizha 2021 nominees with multiple nominations include Arivaan with nine nominations as well as Guru Paarvai 4 with seven nominations. The Most Popular Male and Female Personality awards will also see stiff competition with twenty celebrities in the running! Fans can vote for their favourite celebrities in these two awards from 12 March, 10.00am onwards at mediacorp.sg/pradhanavizha. Voting closes on 27 March, 10.00pm.
