Real Stories, Real Support – Women’s Wellness Event to explore Puberty, Motherhood, Midlife and Beyond

SINDA’s community-led initiative to shed light on vital topics too often left in the shadows – because every stage of life deserves care

SINDA hosted an unique dialogue titled ‘Wellness Together: Seasons of HER’, a community-led wellness event that charts the evolving journey of a woman’s life. Drawing on the metaphor of the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter – this initiative invited women to reflect on their unique experiences as they transit through adolescence, adulthood, midlife, and the senior years. Focused on celebrating and empowering women, the event was a collaboration between 12 Indian organisations, all coming together to promote dialogue and drive collective progress.

This dialogue was a timely and necessary spotlight on issues that are critical but often kept in the shadows. In Asian cultures, particularly within the Indian community, subjects like puberty, menstruation, fertility, menopause, and mental health may be considered private or taboo. By
creating a nurturing space for open conversation, Seasons of HER broke the silence and allows women to embrace their stories and transitions with strength and grace.

Vital topics such as hormonal health, menopause, fertility, burnout, ageing, and emotional resilience took centre stage in this conversation, addressing real challenges faced by women, including physical, emotional, and psychological changes. Through meaningful dialogue with healthcare professionals, mental health experts, and passionate women’s wellness advocates who understand the cultural nuances and lived realities of the community, this event was designed to foster awareness, understanding, and mutual support through open, honest conversations that are culturally sensitive and relevant. Key discussion topics included:

  • Spring – Puberty & Early Adulthood
New beginnings, self-discovery, and emotional sensitivity
Topics: Puberty, body image, gut health, and early relationships
  • Summer – Motherhood & Career Building
Full bloom, ambition, and balancing roles
Topics: Fertility, caregiving, career progression, and burnout
  • Autumn – Midlife Transitions
    Change, reflection, and personal reinvention
Topics: Menopause, hormonal shifts, career pivots, and identity shifts
  • Winter – Renewal & Legacy
    Stillness, wisdom, and legacy-building
Topics: Ageing, post-retirement health, meaning and purpose

Interactive and educational booths supported by community partners offered resources and expert insights on nutrition and cancer awareness.

Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Finance and National Development, and President of SINDA, participated in this event’s panel discussion, as part of the Summer and Spring segment. The event was attended by approximately 100 women from various segments of the Singaporean Indian community.
