SINDA’s Project Give Campaign Strengthens Community-for-Community Spirit this Deepavali. Multiple “Acts of Care” will provide meaningful opportunities for everyone in the community to help the disadvantaged in this festive season
SINDA’s Project Give campaign is hosted each year during Deepavali, to promote greater awareness of community initiatives and to encourage the spirit of giving back to society. This year, with the ongoing Covid-19 climate, Project Give will introduce a series of community-centric programmes and ground-up initiatives, revolving around the theme of “Acts of Care”.
Through such “Acts of Care” initiatives, partners and members of the community, from all walks of life, will join hands with SINDA, to ensure that disadvantaged members of the Indian community continue to be cared for, in these challenging times.
One key activity from these “Acts of Care” is Project Shine, which will see SINDA partners and volunteers sprucing the homes of the disadvantaged. Done in partnership with the Young Sikh Association and Habitat for Humanity, Project Shine will engage and benefit elderly residents living alone in rental apartments, to ensure that they have a safe and clean living environment, in time for the festive season.
Additionally, SINDA will also support other organisations which are keen to implement their own projects for community good, such as community-based goodie bag distributions. Through the SINDA Community Impact Fund, SINDA will also offer funding to community-aligned projects, so that together, as a community, everyone has the resources to play a meaningful role to care for those in need.
This “Acts of Care” series began mid-October and lasted till Deepavali.
