Ribbon sandwich – October 5th, 2011

Ingredients

Thin bread slices 6 (cut the sides of the bread)
Butter 50 gms
Grease proof paper 1
Tomato spread
Chutney spread

Tomato spread

Tomato 1
Onion 1 small size
Jeera a pinch
Salt to taste
Chilli powder tsp
Tomato sauce 1 tea spoon

Method

Blanch the tomato and bring out the pulp. Grind together all the ingredients and cook it till it thickens.

Chutney paste

Coconut of a full coconut
Jeera tea spoon
Garlic 2 flakes
Ginger inch piece
Green chillies – 2
Coriander leaves bunch
Salt to taste
Lime to taste

Method

Take a bread and apply butter on one side.
Take another piece of bread and spread the chutney paste on one side.
Place both the butter and chutney sides facing each other.
Repeat the same to another set of bread. In this put the tomato spread instead of the chutney paste.
Now connect both sets by applying butter on the top of the bread slices.
Cover it in a grease proof paper, and keep it in freezer for hour. Take out and cut like ribbon.
