Celebrating Community Impact: SINDA Recognises 328 Partners, Volunteers, and Donors at SINDA Appreciation Ceremony

The fourth and largest edition of the event highlights the vital role of partnerships, volunteerism, and cross-sector collaboration in taking ownership of community needs.

SINDA hosted the biennial SINDA Appreciation Ceremony (SAC) to
recognise 328 volunteers, partners, and donors for their significant contributions and long-term collaborations with SINDA to benefit and uplift the Singaporean Indian community.

SAC also epitomises SINDA’s efforts in closely aligning with the Government’s ongoing efforts to foster a more inclusive, and community-oriented society – encouraging individuals, corporations, and community organisations to dedicate their time and resources towards supporting the community.

Four categories of individuals and organisations were recognised at SAC:

  • Donors – who have contributed funds and in-kind donations towards SINDA’s
    programmes;
  • Partners – including grassroots organisations and corporate partners, who have played a key role in helping SINDA expand its efforts and extend its reach;
  • Volunteers – including programme volunteers and those who serve in various advisory capacities at SINDA to build organisational excellence; and
  • Educational Institutes – who have supported SINDA’s mission by providing venues for STEP programmes and contributing to various student development initiatives.

In 2024, SINDA supported close to 31,500 beneficiaries by strengthening its network of partners – collaborating closely with individuals and organisations to amplify reach and 1/3impact. With more than 400 active volunteers dedicating 3,254 hours of service, key outreach programmes such as Project Give and Door Knocking Exercises were also made
possible.

The ceremony also spotlighted the vital role of multi-sector collaboration. With 63 organisational partners in 2024, SINDA has been able to extend its reach, bridge service needs, and implement impactful programmes in areas such as education, youth development, and family support.

“SINDA is not as a singular entity, but rather a vast and strongly interconnected network within the community, involving many passionate hearts, minds and hands.” said Mr Anbarasu Rajendran, Chief Executive Officer of SINDA. Said “So, today is an important day for us to recognise and appreciate this extended SINDA family, the individuals and organisations whose support has shaped SINDA into what it is today; and whose efforts have bettered the lives of countless lives in our community.”

The event was graced by Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law, and Chairman, SINDA, Mr K Shanmugam, and Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for National Development, and President, SINDA.

As SINDA continues its mission to uphold a strong and united Indian community, the SINDA Appreciation Ceremony 2025 marked a renewed commitment to deepening engagement, recognising unsung heroes, and expanding outreach through meaningful partnerships.
